The Good, The Bad, and The - What The Hell?

The good. It was inevitable right? The Sox were going to win. Down 3-1 in the ALCS we all knew they would come back on th arms of their pitchers like Beckett and Schilling. But did we figure on them coming back without Oritz and Manny destroying opposing pitchers? Derek Lowell, Dustin Pedroia and rookie ridiculoso Jacoby Ellsbury went crazy blasting the ball and playing sick defense. Ellsbury may very well be the fastest guy I have ever seen. So from a Yankee fan congrats to Red Sox nation for a job well done. It's good for baseball.

So that was the good. What's the bad? How about the J - E - T - S - Jets, Jets, Jets. They are absolutely, bar none the worst NFL team I have seen in my 25 years of conciously watching football. This team has no direction, no leadership at any level of the organization and should wrap up with the season with the first pick in the draft. They will lose to division and worst team rival the Dolphins thereby securing their number one draft pick status. They are simply horrible.

You'd think that was the ugly right? Wrong. The ugly was they way Alex Rodriguez and his agent handled his announcement that he would opt out of his final three years as a Yankee and test the free agent market. In about the second or third inning of last night's World Series game the announcement made that A-Rod would seek a new employer. First of all, thank goodness. Have a nice trip. Secondly, he didn't make that much of an impact anyway. What makes this the ugly is the timing of the announcement. Designed as an obvious attempt to take the spotlight away from the Bo' Sox, it served as nothing more than downright disrespect for the game of baseball. They had 10 days after the completion of the World Series to make the announcement. Their tactics were bush league and any fan who loves the game of baseball should feel insulted. It just shows that A-Rod's number one goal is money - that's it - nothing else. Definitely....the ugly.
