Apparently the days of mile high magic are over. The end of this game was crazy, and there was some magic. Unfortunately, that magic came from the wrong side. Brett Favre is a machine and proved once again that he DOES still have it and there is no reason for him to retire. He was pretty much perfect in the second half and led hi spack to the overtime win.
What the hell happened to the Broncos' "star" cornerbacks. Champ Bailey and Dre Bly, supposedly the best tandem in the NFL, got torched for touchdowns over 75 yards! I don't get it. One thig I can say is that we are starting to see the results of the Broncos' arrogance in recent draft years. Other than Jay Cutler, Denver has pretty much ignored drafting players and have tried to anchor their team with cast offs from other ones. It's obvioously not working!
The future does look bright with Cutler at the helm but they need to get him some help and they need to do it soon.

More Mile High Magic? Not Quite....

I think the emotional equilibrium of the game was skewed after the half, when they showed that "best friends attacking breast cancer" piece for a second time. Even the biggest of Bronco fans felt their hearts drop when the junior high couple was tracked, to the backdrop of yanni music, through their various ups and downs.
It was as if Brett and his wife had been flushed out of the pocket of life, chased within an inch of their lives; only to be mir-aculously saved by a Mississippi underhand strike to old Bubba Franks; who barreled over cancer at the goaline.
I think if they had shown two replays of John Elway selling out for the first down near the goaline in the second super bowl victory, maybe there could have been an emotional break even.
Alas, it was one and done (and pink ribbons for everyone)in OT.
Hang in there Brian. At least there was yet another chance for Jason Elam to show the world he can run a 4.5 40.
